The accumulated plastic slip \(\gamma \) (left) and the scalar dislocation density \(\rho \) (right) with only one active slip system. The maximum display value for \(\rho \) has been set to \(5\cdot 10^{14}\) m\(^{-2}\) (the scale in the colorbar is in \(\upmu \mathrm {m}^{-2}\)) in order to more clearly demonstrate how it is distributed over the grains. The true maximum value is \(2.4\cdot 10^{15}\) m\(^{-2}\). For the same reason, the maximum display value for \(\gamma \) has also been limited (at 0.3). In a very narrow region larger values are observed, with a maximum of almost 1
