The use of dedicated pre-conditioners improves the condition number but has little effect on X-FEM accuracy. According to the curves above, conditioning and accuracy are clearly two separated issues: improving the condition number does not automatically solve accuracy issues. Conditioning and accuracy are both symptoms of the faulty behavior of partition of unity with asymptotically small domains
