An example of system composed of three components, of indices 1, 2 and 3, corresponding to the subdomains Ω 1,Ω 2,Ω 3. This system has two global ports of indices 1 and 2, corresponding to the interfaces \(\Gamma _{1}=\overline \Omega _{1} \cap \overline \Omega _{2}\) and \(\Gamma _{2}=\overline \Omega _{2} \cap \overline \Omega _{3}\). Component 1 has one local port \({\gamma _{1}^{1}}=\Gamma _{1}\), component 2 has two local ports \({\gamma _{2}^{1}}=\Gamma _{1}\) and \({\gamma _{2}^{2}}=\Gamma _{2}\), and component 3 has one local port \({\gamma _{3}^{1}}=\Gamma _{2}\).
